NEWS & UPCOMING EVENTS:
ANo classes Wed or
Thur this week. Today, Sunday Nov 19, will be our last Sunday classes
till Jan. I will be posting the 2018 schedule soon
Our annual Christmas
dinner dance will be held on Sunday Dec 3rd at Springvale Ballroom
in N Olmsted. Doors will open at 5:30, and we dance from 6-9.
Please consider bringing a snack or covered dish to share and cost
is $7 for dancers and $3 for non dancers & cookie eaters :) Again
this year, out goal is to help our friend Laurie Hovater Meadows and
her wonderful work of feeding & clothing the homeless VETS at
Christmas. Below is a message from Laurie that she had posted, and
items she is looking for. last year one of our dancers baked
several pies and we took them down on Dec 24th plus we filled over
50 containers with candy to pass out. Linda has agreed to bake more
pies this year ( Thank you Linda) and on top of our donations of
clothing, how about bringing in a couple of bags of candy ( small
candy bars, hard candy) which I will divide & put into plastic
containers to be passed out for desserts. Anyone who wishes to go
downtown on Dec 24th and hand out food, Laurie is always looking for
MESSAGE FROM LAURIE HOVATER-MEADOWS
to collect items for our Christmas Eve Coat drop at
North Point Transitional Housing! If you have gently
used winter coats, hats, gloves, scarves
or can provide any type of toiletries, new socks,
boxers, etc. for our drive, please let me know. This is
officially the 10th year of this project and we'd like
to make it the biggest one yet. We prefer warm winter
coats and clothing and we focus on men since the shelter
we visit is primarly a men's shelter but we never turn
down a donation and nothing goes to waste. I've reached
out to my own dentist for a donation of toothpaste or
toothbrushes but if you know or work for a dentist or
you are one who collects sample size bottles from hotel
rooms and such, please consider donating to our project.
We'll be making over 100 gift bags filled with all of
the necessities and we'll take whatever we can get to
make their holidays brighter this year. Thanks in
Our Christmas dance

We gave a hearty

Our May 16th 4'th annual
benefit for the Cleveland Domestic Violence Center was a success! We had a record
crowd, and we had people from all over the state attending, THANK YOU!
Our totals were a little down this year, $4,300 but considering the bad
economy, we did an awesome job! Special thanks to Frank Trace, for
sharing some of his new dances with us!
April 17'th, was Dancing For A Cure down
in Columbus, and what a fantastic day we had! There were 9 of you
from Cleveland who made the trip down, and I met a great group who had
come down from Canton, plus another local dance teacher and group.
We all stuck in out the whole 4 hours, and my feet are still singing the
Here we are down in Columbus, as you
can see, everyone seemed to want to be in the back?
Thanks to all who made our Christmas
party such a success! The homemade goodies were awesome, we even
took time out for a little dancing in between all the snacking!
Friday found a group of us downtown at
the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame at 6:45 ( yes that was A.M.) for a special
Fox 8 did on Caliber. Although the dancers did not receive much
air time ( don't blink if you watch it) we all had such a good time!

While most of us were happy to wear a

guests went all out ( see below) what a great time and GREAT
